Stablecoin and crypto events to watch in Africa’s 2025 calendar

0

2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Africa’s digital economy. Across the continent, stablecoin and crypto events are lined up to bring together innovators, regulators, and businesses to debate the future of money. At the centre of this growing calendar is the Africa Stablecoin Network (ASN), the organisation that hosted the first stablecoin event in Africa earlier this year.

ASN is now building on that milestone with two flagship gatherings. In October, Lagos will host the Lagos Stablecoin Leadership Breakfast, a focused meeting designed for stakeholders to engage directly on payments, regulation, and adoption. Then in November, Abuja will welcome the West Africa Stablecoin Summit 2025, where discussions will explore how stablecoins can power trade, support inclusion, and strengthen regional growth.

The activity starts September 4th, with Driving Growth in the Decentralised Era. Scheduled for 7pm, this virtual event sets the tone for a busy season of conversations around Web3 and community.

Other events will add to the continent-wide momentum. Lagos will stage the StableAfrica Summit, Johannesburg will host the Africa Stablecoin Summit, and Cape Town will welcome Crypto Fest 2025. Abuja will also feature the Solana Summit, highlighting blockchain platforms engaging with African markets. Alongside these, the Africa Blockchain Festival and OnChain Conference will broaden discussions to cover decentralised finance and community building.

This year’s calendar shows how far the conversation has come. Stablecoins and crypto are no longer side topics; they are front and centre in Africa’s dialogue on payments and growth. ASN’s pioneering role and its continued leadership through new events reflect how African stakeholders are not only catching up with global trends but setting an agenda of their own.
